Rio Tinto restarts Australian iron ore mines

World No. 2 iron ore miner Rio Tinto Ltd/Plc is restarting its iron ore mines in western Australia after a two-week closure to cut production by about 10 percent due to lower demand from steel mills in China.

Tata may need to invest $1 billion in Jaguar

India's Tata group may have to pump in at least $1 billion (674,000 pounds) to revive premium brands Jaguar Land Rover that was bought by Tata Motors earlier this year, the Economic Times reported on Tuesday.

The U.S. Navy on Monday awarded a $14 billion (9.4 billion pound) contract to General Dynamics Corp and Northrop Grumman Corp for eight Virginia-class submarines, saying it had met a "nearly impossible" target of cutting the cost of each ship by $400 million.
